Job Description
Sky Chefs seeks an Executive Chef to lead high-volume inflight catering operations for major airline customers. This role oversees menu execution, production planning, and food quality in a fast-paced, aviation-regulated environment. The Executive Chef manages a large kitchen team, ensuring consistent standards in taste, presentation, and portion control across multiple flights and classes of service. Responsibilities include enforcing rigorous food safety and HACCP practices, coordinating closely with logistics and operations to meet tight flight schedules, managing inventory and food costs, and supporting audits and client reviews. The ideal candidate combines strong culinary expertise with proven leadership, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in a production-driven, service-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations for high-volume airline catering production
- Design and standardize inflight menus to meet airline specifications and cost targets
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and aviation catering standards
- Manage, train, and schedule culinary and kitchen staff across multiple shifts
- Monitor quality control, portioning, and presentation for all outbound flights
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to meet tight flight departure timelines
- Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships to control costs
- Implement continuous improvement in recipes, processes, and kitchen workflows
- Track and report on production metrics, waste, and food cost performance
- Support audits, customer visits, and new airline customer onboarding
