Dental Program Director - Community Health Center

The Providence Community Health Centers, Inc. seeks a mission-driven Dental Director to lead our integrated dental program serving diverse, underserved communities in Providence, RI. The Dental Director provides clinical leadership, oversees quality and safety, manages dental providers and staff, and ensures evidence-based, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include strategic program growth, budgeting, compliance, and collaboration with medical, behavioral health, and specialty teams to expand access, improve outcomes, and support a culture of equity, learning, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and strategic leadership for all dental services across the organization
• Ensure high-quality, evidence-based, culturally responsive dental care for underserved patients
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate dentists, hygienists, and dental support staff
• Oversee clinical standards, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
• Manage dental program budgeting, productivity, and resource allocation
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements, including FQHC standards
• Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and specialty teams to coordinate integrated care
• Lead program planning, expansion initiatives, and community outreach for oral health
• Monitor clinical outcomes and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement
• Promote a mission-driven, patient-centered, and team-based culture within the dental department
