School Custodian

Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas in a school or campus environment. Duties include floor care, trash removal, dusting, recycling, restroom cleaning, and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. On-the-job training is provided; no prior experience or diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and stairways.
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris or spills from floors and designated areas.
• Empty trash and sort recycling into appropriate receptacles.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, doors, glass, floors, walls, and other surfaces.
• Use cleaning chemicals and power equipment safely and report repair needs to a lead or manager.
• Perform seasonal outdoor tasks and follow established safety, security, compliance, and quality procedures.
