Job Description

Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc. seeks a Scientist I to perform routine and complex clinical laboratory testing that directly supports patient care. Based in our Nashville, TN reference lab, you will prepare and analyze specimens using advanced diagnostic platforms, follow strict quality control procedures, and validate accurate, timely results for healthcare providers. Working in a collaborative, quality-focused environment, you will maintain instruments, support method validations, document all activities to meet regulatory standards, and contribute to continuous improvement and patient-centric service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests following standard operating procedures
  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret specimens using advanced diagnostic instruments and assays
  • Document, review, and validate test results to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Follow quality control and quality assurance protocols, participating in audits and process improvements
  • Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, and healthcare providers to support patient care decisions
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
  • Adhere to biosafety, infection control, and HIPAA standards at all times
  • Contribute to method validation, new assay implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff on laboratory techniques and procedures
  • Accurately manage sample tracking, data entry, and reporting within the laboratory information system
