Senior Cost Accounting Controller - Manufacturing

Babbitting Service Inc, a precision babbitt bearing manufacturer in West Allis, WI, seeks a Controller to own all accounting and financial reporting. You will manage GL, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close; lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning; and oversee cost accounting, job costing, and inventory for a specialized manufacturing environment. Partner closely with leadership to analyze margins, support pricing, and guide decisions. Ensure GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and audit readiness while improving systems and processes in a hands-on, close-knit industrial team.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, and payroll
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow planning
• Maintain internal controls, cost accounting, and inventory tracking for manufacturing operations
• Oversee job costing, project margins, and profitability analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and external audits
• Support leadership with financial modeling and strategic decision-making
• Implement and improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, and external advisors
• Supervise and develop small accounting/office staff
