Transit Operations General Manager - Public Transit

MV Transportation seeks a General Manager to lead daily transit operations across paratransit, fixed-route, and shuttle services. This role oversees safety, service reliability, budgets, and staff performance while ensuring full regulatory compliance. The General Manager directs managers, dispatchers, and operators, promotes a culture of safety and respect, and partners with public agency clients and community stakeholders. Responsibilities include KPI and financial analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting long-term, accessible mobility solutions for the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fixed-route, paratransit, and shuttle operations to meet safety, on-time performance, and service quality goals.
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation, optimizing labor, fleet, and vendor costs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, ADA, and all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as MV Transportation policies.
• Lead, coach, and develop managers, dispatchers, drivers, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and respect.
• Implement and monitor safety programs, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Analyze performance data and KPIs, developing action plans to improve reliability, customer satisfaction, and efficiency.
• Partner with clients, community stakeholders, and internal leadership to address service issues and plan improvements.
• Oversee fleet readiness, maintenance coordination, and facility standards to support safe, reliable service.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labor relations to maintain service coverage and control overtime.
• Support business growth, new service launches, and continuous improvement initiatives within the operation.
