Avori Staffing is recruiting for a confidential financial consulting firm seeking an experienced audit professional for a client-facing Financial Reporting Consultant position in Chicago.
This opportunity is designed for Big 4 audit professionals who want to move beyond traditional audit work and support organizations through complex accounting, reporting, and transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- Support financial reporting and technical-accounting projects
- Assist clients with SEC reporting, IPO readiness, SOX and internal controls
- Prepare and review financial statements and related disclosures
- Support audit readiness, accounting close and controllership initiatives
- Research and apply U.S. GAAP requirements
- Work directly with controllers, CFOs and other financial leaders
- Lead project activities and communicate recommendations to clients
- Transition between different client environments and assignments
- Travel based on client and project requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Approximately three to six years of professional experience
- External audit or assurance experience with Deloitte, PwC, EY or KPMG
- At least three completed audit busy seasons
- Experience auditing public companies, Fortune 1000 organizations or large private-equity-backed companies
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial-statement auditing
- Experience working directly with U.S.-based clients
- Strong communication, analytical and client-service skills
- Based in the Chicago market or prepared to relocate before starting
- Willingness to travel based on client needs
Preferred qualifications
- Active CPA license or CPA eligibility
- SEC or PCAOB client experience
- SOX or internal-controls experience
- Experience leading audit teams or serving as an audit in-charge
- Exposure to IPO readiness, mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs or audit-readiness projects

- Tax or tax technology
- Internal audit
- FP&A or corporate finance
- ERP or systems implementation
- Bookkeeping or small-business accounting
Compensation and benefits
Salary: $INSERT APPROVED MINIMUM-$INSERT APPROVED MAXIMUM annually

Compensation will be based on experience, credentials, location and the responsibilities of the position.
Work authorization
The employer may consider qualified candidates requiring E-3, H-1B1, qualifying H-1B transfer or TN sponsorship. Sponsorship eligibility is evaluated individually. Candidates requiring an H-1B transfer should have at least three years remaining.
