Senior Structural Civil Engineer - Energy & Utilities

Leidos is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support Energy & Utilities projects within our Engineering & Architecture organization. In this mission-driven role, you will lead the analysis and design of foundations, steel and concrete structures, and transmission/distribution assets for critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include preparing calculations and drawings, reviewing peer designs, performing structural assessments, supporting construction, and ensuring code compliance. You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior engineers, interface with utility clients, and contribute to innovative, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural design and analysis for energy and utility infrastructure projects
• Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements
• Perform structural assessments and evaluations of existing facilities and assets
• Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs and submittal reviews
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders
• Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and documentation
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Contribute to project planning, scope development, and schedule/budget management
• Promote innovation, quality, safety, and risk management in project delivery
