PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Contract
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts
Contract Length: Approximately 12 weeks
Potential Extension: Yes
Traveler Rate: Starting at $59.22/hour for candidates residing 50+ miles from the facility
Local Rate: Starting at $52.98/hour for candidates within the local radius
Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN) for a contract opportunity with a nationally recognized specialty hospital in New York City.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced pediatric critical care nurse interested in working within a highly specialized, multidisciplinary environment caring for medically complex pediatric patients.
The PICU provides advanced care to children and adolescents requiring intensive medical and surgical services. Nurses work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other pediatric specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor changes in clinical condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with the plan of care
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient acuity and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the care process
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PICU experience required
- Current Registered Nurse license
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Current American Heart Association PALS certification required
- Recent experience caring for critically ill pediatric patients
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary environment
