Job Description
Join US Foods as a CDL Local Driver in our Transportation & Logistics department, supporting one of America's leading foodservice distributors. Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver food and equipment to restaurants, healthcare, hospitality, and other foodservice customers. Load/unload products, verify orders, and provide exceptional customer service on every route. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on local, multi-stop delivery routes
- Perform accurate pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company standards
- Verify load accuracy against manifests and invoices before leaving the distribution center
- Deliver food and beverage products to restaurants and other foodservice customers on a scheduled route
- Unload products using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and lift gates, often in tight or confined spaces
- Ensure products are delivered in good condition, following proper handling and rotation practices
- Obtain customer signatures, reconcile invoices, and collect payments when required
- Use handheld devices and electronic logging systems to record deliveries and maintain DOT-compliant logs
- Communicate with dispatch and transportation leadership regarding delays, issues, or route changes
- Report equipment problems, product shortages, returns, and damages promptly
- Follow all safety procedures, traffic laws, and company policies at all times
- Provide professional, courteous customer service and represent US Foods' values at each stop
Required Skills
- Class A CDL driving
