Role Description
The Director of Finance is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading Ember’s financial strategy, planning, and reporting. This role oversees budgeting and forecasting processes, prepares and analyzes financial statements, and ensures timely, accurate financial reporting for leadership and key stakeholders. The Director of Finance will monitor company performance, identify trends and risks, and provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic decisions and growth initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing cash flow, overseeing internal controls, partnering with cross-functional teams on financial models, and supporting capital allocation and fundraising activities. This position also contributes to refining financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and transparency across the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, including corporate finance principles and strategic financial management skills.
- Expertise in Financial Planning and budgeting, with experience in forecasting and long-range financial modeling.
- Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Hands-on experience with Financial Reporting, management reporting, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA/CFA is a plus.
- Experience in high-growth companies, real estate, or proptech environments is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with financial software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, financial planning tools, BI platforms).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in a remote setting.
- Demonstrated ability to build and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
