Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant

Docstar is looking for a Family Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for a contract in California.

Start Date: May 26 (flexible; orientation every 2 weeks)
Length of Assignment: 3 months (definite possibility of extension)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8AM 5PM with 1-hour lunch (4x10s may be considered); includes 4 hours/week admin time
Credentialing: 2 3 weeks
Patient Volume: Approximately 24 patients/day (up to 29 scheduled with 20% no-show rate; walk-ins possible)
Procedures: Full-scope Family Medicine & Urgent Care; pap smears, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension), medication management, and all-ages care (0 100)
Setting: FQHC
EMR: Epic
Licence Needed: Active CA license (must have at time of submission)
Certifications: Board Certified, Furnishing License, Active CA DEA. Must have 1 year of recent locum experience and 1 year of recent Epic experience .

Details:
Outpatient Family Medicine role within a Federally Qualified Health Center requiring a flexible APP comfortable managing a wide range of patient needs across all age groups. Providers should be confident handling chronic care, urgent care cases, and cross-covering for other providers patients when needed. Each provider is supported by a dedicated MA and receives structured onboarding, including an initial training week and a 3-week patient ramp-up period. Must have at least 1 year of recent locum experience and Epic experience. Approximately 75% of the patient population is Spanish-speaking or Filipino, with interpreter services available and many bilingual staff members.
