Job Description
Title Financial Corp seeks a Title Officer to support our Legal & Regulatory Compliance team within the real estate industry. You will examine public records, review title reports, clear defects, and issue accurate commitments and policies for residential and commercial transactions. Partnering with escrow, lenders, and underwriters, you'll ensure each file meets strict legal and regulatory standards while protecting all parties in the settlement process. Responsibilities
- Examine and interpret public records, title reports, and legal documents to determine ownership and encumbrances.
- Identify, clear, and resolve title defects, liens, and exceptions prior to closing.
- Prepare and issue title commitments, final policies, endorsements, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with escrow officers, underwriters, lenders, and real estate professionals to resolve complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal real estate, title insurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on title standards, underwriting requirements, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready files in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding title findings, requirements, and curative steps.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk in title operations.
- Stay current on industry regulations, underwriting guidelines, and best practices.
