Nonprofit Finance Director

Chinese Mutual Aid Association Inc seeks a Finance Director to lead financial strategy, budgeting, and reporting for its mission-driven Chicago nonprofit. The Director oversees accounting, grants and contracts, audits, and compliance while supporting program teams that serve immigrants, refugees, and low-income communities. This role manages the finance staff, develops dashboards for leadership and the Board, and strengthens internal controls. The Director collaborates across departments, provides clear guidance to non-finance staff, and aligns financial planning with CMAA's community-centered, culturally humble values.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall financial strategy, planning, and analysis for CMAAOversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Manage general ledger, monthly close, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit, and fund accounting standards
• Oversee grants and contracts budgeting, tracking, and reporting
• Coordinate annual audit and tax filings; liaise with external auditors
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Prepare financial dashboards and reports for leadership and Board
• Supervise and mentor finance/accounting staff
• Collaborate with program leaders to align resources with mission impact
